Manual Emergency Drain and Door Release

1. Turn off the power supply and unplug the machine from the wall socket to ensure safety.
2. Locate the small service flap at the bottom front of your machine and open it using a flat-head screwdriver.
3. Place a shallow tray or towel on the floor to catch water, then slowly unscrew the drain pump filter to release trapped water.
4. For front-load models, look for a small emergency release tab or cable (usually red or yellow) hidden behind the service flap; pull it gently to unlock the door latch.
5. If your machine is a top-load model, ensure the cycle has fully ended; if it is stuck, perform a 'Drain/Spin' cycle again to clear any remaining water.

Safe Steps to Try Before Calling a Technician

1. Check if the drum is still full of water; if so, the door lock will remain engaged to prevent flooding.
2. Try running a 'Drain Only' or 'Spin' cycle to clear the remaining water, which often triggers the door release.
3. Wait 5 to 10 minutes after the cycle ends, as the safety mechanism sometimes takes time to cool down and disengage.
4. Gently press against the door while pulling the handle to relieve pressure on the locking mechanism.
