How to Test the Pressure Switch with a Multimeter

1. Unplug the washing machine from the power source and remove the top cover to locate the pressure switch, which is usually a small round component connected by a thin plastic tube.
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch and remove the tube carefully.
3. Set your multimeter to the Ohms (resistance) setting.
4. Measure the resistance across the switch terminals while gently blowing into the air inlet port of the switch; you should hear a click and observe a change in the multimeter reading.
5. If the multimeter shows no change or remains at 'OL' (open loop) regardless of the air pressure, the switch is faulty and needs replacement.
