How to Clean Your IFB Drain Pump Filter

1. Locate the small service flap at the bottom front corner of your washing machine.
2. Place a shallow tray or a thick towel on the floor to catch the residual water that will spill out once the filter is opened.
3. Open the flap and slowly unscrew the circular drain filter cap in a counter-clockwise direction.
4. Remove any debris, lint, coins, or small objects trapped inside the filter housing.
5. Rinse the filter under running water to remove soap scum and debris, then screw it back tightly in a clockwise direction to prevent leaks.

Safe Steps to Try Before Calling a Technician

1. Check the drain hose at the back of the machine to ensure it is not kinked, bent, or crushed against the wall.
2. Ensure the drain hose is not inserted too deeply into the standpipe, as this can cause a siphon effect.
3. Verify that the drain hose height is between 60cm and 100cm from the floor, as per IFB installation guidelines.
4. Run a 'Drain/Spin' cycle after cleaning the filter to test if the water pumps out correctly.
