How to Use the Emergency Door Release

1. Ensure the machine is switched off and unplugged from the power source for safety.
2. Locate the small kick-plate or service flap at the bottom front of your IFB washing machine.
3. Open the flap carefully using a flat-head screwdriver or a coin to pry it open.
4. Locate the emergency drain tube and the manual release lever (usually a plastic ring or lever).
5. Place a shallow tray under the drain tube, remove the cap, and drain any remaining water completely.
6. Once drained, pull the manual release lever downward or pull the ring to disengage the door lock mechanism.

Safe Steps to Try Before Calling a Technician

1. Check if the machine has completed the drain cycle; if water remains, the safety lock will not release.
2. Try running a 'Drain/Spin' cycle again to ensure all water is removed from the drum.
3. Wait 5–10 minutes after the cycle ends, as the thermal lock may need time to cool down before releasing.
4. Press firmly against the door while simultaneously pressing the 'Start/Pause' button to reset the lock sensor.
