Using the Emergency Door Release

1. Locate the service flap at the bottom right corner of your washing machine and open it using a flat-head screwdriver or coin.
2. If there is water inside, place a shallow tray or towel underneath and slowly unscrew the drain pump cover to let the water flow out completely.
3. Once the water is drained, look for the emergency release lever (usually a colored plastic tab or pull-cord) located near the drain pump area.
4. Gently pull the lever downwards or towards you to manually disengage the door lock, then open the door.

Safe Steps to Try Before Calling a Technician

1. Ensure the machine is completely powered off and unplugged from the wall socket to prevent electrical shock.
2. Check if the drum is still full of water; if it is, the machine will not unlock for safety reasons, so drain it manually first.
3. Try running a 'Drain' or 'Spin' cycle again, as a glitch in the cycle completion can sometimes keep the door locked.
4. Wait 5-10 minutes after a cycle ends, as the door lock mechanism may take time to cool down and release.
